Best MacGruber 'SNL' Skits

MacGruberHe can diffuse bombs by just using a paper clip -- all while rocking plaid shirts and a mullet.

He's MacGruber, played by Will Forte in a series of 'Saturday Night Live' sketches that started in 2007, parodying the 1980s series 'MacGyver.'

The setup is always the same: MacGruber, an assistant (played either by Maya Rudolph or Kristin Wiig), and another character played by the show's host are stuck in a room -- with a ticking time bomb about to go off in 20 seconds.

Can MacGruber save the day?
Well, usually not, but he does get some laughs along the way. With 'MacGruber' hitting movie theaters today, here's a look back on his best work on the small screen. This weekend, catch him and his team of operatives in the 'MacGruber' movie.

Going Broke
Josh Brolin (in an amazing wig) guest stars as MacGruber falls victim to the stock market crash.

Father and Son
In this clip, host Shia LeBoeuf plays MacGruber's son, who reveals a secret that strains their relationship.

It's Pronounced "Darryl"
Host Charles Barkley portrays Darrel, MacGruber's new employee who reveals his boss's hidden racism.

They Call Him "Poopcasso"
In Betty White's acclaimed turn as host, she plays MacGruber's grandmother, who reveals embarrassing secrets -- and gets romantic.

MacGruber, Meet MacGyver
Original MacGyver Richard Dean Anderson stars as MacGruber's long-lost dad.

Watching these reminded me that SNL skit>movies are always a skit that just ran way too long...and I pay for the inconvenience.
