Bret vs. Holly: Who Will Win 'The Celebrity Apprentice?'

by Chris Jordan, posted May 23rd 2010 6:00AM
It's a case of heart vs. head on 'The Celebrity Apprentice' final, 9p Sunday, May 23 on NBC.

That's what we have in the upcoming Bret Michaels and Holly Robinson Peete final episode. The heart says Michaels, the seemingly reformed rocker whose wit and good humor charmed co-contestants and fans alike this season. The head says Robinson Peete, the driven Philly actress whose focus, skills and determination has put her in the final.

Let's break down the chances for the final two:

Bret Michaels

Why He'll Win: The former Poison frontman knows how to get things done. He's used a friendly nature and aw-shucks likability to motivate people and it worked. He showed this on the very first episode by making the right decisions, getting people started and winning the diner challenge. He's creative, too. Plus, he's the sentimental favorite due to his recent spate of health issues. Michaels was rushed into a hospital with a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage in critical condition on the weekend of April 22. That followed an emergency appendectomy the previous week. On Thursday, it was reported that Michaels suffered what is being called a warning stroke, according to a story from MTV.com. The rocker, who's a diabetic, is recovering and he should be able to make it to Sunday's final, .
Why He Won't Win: Michaels seems to get overwhelmed at points in the show and the Snapple challenge from last week looks like one of those points. Letting Curtis Stone come in and snatch the passion fruit showed Michaels' lack of focus.
Odds: 4-1

Holly Robinson Peete
Why She'll Win: The game was made for Peete. She's a vet at raising money for charity, thanks to her work for the HollyRod Foundation, which she founded with her husband, ex-football player Rodney Peete. Part of the focus of HollyRod is to raise money for autism research as their eldest son suffered from it. As such, the former star of '21 Jump Street' knows how to tap into deep-pocketed sources from Hollywood and the sports world for charity bucks.
Why She Won't Win: Robinson's driven nature has alienated some of her fellow players and that could possibly haunt her. Say, for instance, Trump brings back Cyndi Lauper on the final episode -- that would be a disaster for Robinson Peete. This is unlikely, however.
Odds: 2-5

Final Prediction: Peete will win. It's kind of like how the celebrities who were ex-professional dancers to so well on 'Dancing with the Stars.' Raising charity money is Robinson Peete's game and she's the best one here at it. The wild card will be how hard Michaels tugs at the heart strings. We envision a possible scenario where there's a duel championship this season of both Robinson Peete and Michaels. The Michaels story is so compelling at this point that there might be no way Trump could send him home empty handed.

Talk about totally changing the public's perception of who you are. Brett has done a phenominal job on this show and has shown that he cares about kids, he does charity work and that he is smart and creative.I'm quite sure from this positive exposure he has recieved (versus his past indiscretions) that he will get a lot more opportunities now in endorsements and business opportunities.

Hey maybe Tiger Woods and Jesse James should be on it next year and maybe they will be able to change their public persona's LOL

BRET WON BECAUSE OF ALL THE PUBLICITY HE GOT WHEN HE BECAME ILL LAST WEEK...THE PITY VOTE. WE ALL KNOW IT. ALSO, BEING WHITE DIDN'T HURT. THE SHOW SEEMS TO BE RIGGED WHEN TRUMP FAVORTIES SOMEBODY WHO SHOULDN'T WIN. HOLLEY SHOULD HAVE WON BECAUSE SHE MADE THE MOST MONEY AND WE ALL KNOW IT. HAD SHE BEEN WHITE..SHE WOULD HAVE.

This is the second time I have been disappointed in how Mr. Trump objectives for winning the game change when it comes time to pick a winner. WHY? Even though he holds allthe winning cards, that does not excuse the poor way he has made the decisions for the last two winners. Your questionnable decisions causes me to loss respect for your selection skills. Make up your mind what your objections are for your show and stick to them. What a great example it will be for your children and Grandchildren, Mr. Trump. Your integrity and honesty is worth more than money.

Bret, all the way! He is a truly compassionate guy and it's a clear choice. He is a winner in my book, and has been since day one. Holly did a great job, too, but, my heart is with Bret! Love ya, man!

Brett will win because gay men, Donald and Brett, will stick together. People will feel sorry for a drugger that was hospitalized. Donald Trump has screwed alot of people out of alot of money on condos that they put money down on, and Trump never built them.
