GleeMore good news for 'Glee' fans: According to an exclusive report from EW.com, Fox has renewed the award-winning musical dramedy for a third season.

"In just one year, Glee has transcended the television landscape and emerged as a global pop culture phenomenon," said Fox Fox Networks Group Entertainment Chairman Peter Rice in a statement.

"It's been a whirlwind year -- from shooting the pilot to performing at the White House to the concert tour that began last week -- and yet we all feel like we've just begun this amazing musical journey. We think our Gleeks worldwide are going to love what we'll have in store for them in seasons two and three," added series creator Ryan Murphy.

Indeed, it has been a whirlwind year for the freshman comedy, which currently ranks as the number-one new scripted series among adults 18-49 and 18-34. In addition to averaging a whopping 13.3 million viewers this spring, the show has won numerous awards, rocked the Billboard charts and attracted some of the biggest guest stars in showbiz, from Olivia Newton John to 'How I Met Your Mother''s Neil Patrick Harris.

And next season is poised to be an even bigger year for 'Glee,' which stars Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele and Jane Lynch, among others. As we reported last week, the show has been selected to air in the coveted post-Super Bowl slot in February, and will kick off its second season Tuesdays at 8PM, beginning this fall.

'Glee,' which was renewed for a second season in January, will conclude its first season on Tue., Jun. 8. This week's episode will reportedly feature the music of Lady Gaga.
