it wasn't purgatory. Think of it like the created train station in the last matrix movie as a waypoint between two systems. Or like a torrent file. They were being collected but all the data wasn't there yet to complete the file.

If Kate and Sawyer were on the plane with Miles, Richard and Lepides then why were only Kate and Sawyer in the church at the end? Wouldn't that mean that the rest survived? And why was Walt so freaking important? And what was Jacob's brother's name surely it wasn't the man in black or smoke monster. Disappointed doesn't begin....

The fact that Kate and Sawyer were on the plane with Richard and Lepides is irrelevant, they went on with their lives somewhere and eventually died ending up in limbo with the rest of their friends. This Limbo period was at some point far in the future, that's why Hurley tells Ben he was a good number 2. The smoke monster's name doesn't really matter does it?

Richard and Lepidus probably weren't there as they weren't on 815 and directly connected to everyone else. Shoot Richard could still be alive also, they'd only show up at the "church" in the construct of their minds once they died somewhere along the way.

I was disappointed. For a show so good at weaving a story with complexity and skill, and answering and asking questions, it seemed a bit...lacking.

I don't mean this to insult anyone, but if you were a casual fan or just a fan who watched weekly and that's it, maybe you liked it. If you were a hardcore fan who watched, rewatched, read Lostpedia, read some/all the books, did the puzzles, etc. you were probably disappointed.

What the heck just happened on the Lost finale? Did everyone except Jack die when the plane crashed and they were just waiting on him?
