Belinda Carlisle: 'Lips Unsealed' About Her Addiction (VIDEO)

While promoting her new memoir 'Lips Unsealed' on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM ET on ABC), musician Belinda Carlisle spoke frankly about her past alcohol and drug use and her ability to hide it over several years.

"I thought that ... I was depressed, and that's why I was drinking and using. But, little did I know, I got it all backwards. I was depressed because of the circle and the shame that goes along with addiction," Carlisle said.

Carlisle added that she was able to hide her addiction from friends and family, including her husband. "My husband ... until he read the book, he had no idea about how bad it was towards the end. I mean, I did a pretty good job of hiding it from a lot of people," she said.
