Tom Skerritt to Guest on 'Leverage'

He's already the paterfamilias of the Walker clan on 'Brothers & Sisters,' and now, 'Top Gun' and 'Picket Fences' star Tom Skerritt is about to finds out he has another baby boy in TV land: He'll play Jimmy Ford, the father of Timothy Hutton's Nate in TNT's 'Leverage.'

The series, about a group of con men and women who work on behalf of those who've been wronged, begins its third season on June 20 (9PM ET), in its new Sunday-night timeslot.

Skerritt is scheduled to pop up in the Aug. 8 episode, 'The Three-Card Monte Job,' in which he not only provides viewers with scoop on Nate's background, but ends up joining his son and Nate's cohorts on a job.

"People from Nate's life show up," Hutton told TVGuide.com earlier this year. "We're filming an episode now that has to do with where Nate comes from. We learn a lot about who Nate is by meeting someone who had a tremendous influence over him."

The 76-year-old Skerritt, who won a lead actor Emmy for his role on 'Fences,' guest starred on another TNT series, 'The Closer,' last July.

Meanwhile, 'Leverage' has several other celebs on its list of season three guest stars, including Richard Chamberlain, John Schneider, Clancy Brown, Giancarlo Esposito, Bill Engvall and Lisa Brenner (wife of series producer Dean Devlin).

The season premiere also marks the debut of Elisabetta Canalis in the recurring role of a woman who strongly encourages (read: blackmails) Nate into planning a con against someone. Canalis, of course, is best known to U.S. viewers as George Clooney's current girlfriend.

Here's a sneak peek at the 'Leverage' season premiere, 'The Jailhouse Job':

Regardless of who plays him, I'm excited to see Nate's father pop up this season; it should be an interesting storyline.
