Sarah Chalke In for Minka Kelly on CBS's 'Mad Love'?

Former 'Scrubs' Sarah Chalke may join CBS's 'Mad Love'Deadline Hollywood is reporting that former 'Scrubs' star Sarah Chalke is "in talks to co-star" on the CBS sitcom 'Mad Love,' which also stars Jason Biggs and Tyler Labine.

Chalke would play "Kate," one of four friends in New York looking for romance. Former 'Friday Night Lights' star Minka Kelly was originally slated to play the role.

The move would make sense, since the show was created by former 'Scrubs' writer-producer Matt Tarses. Tarses, who is executive producing with sister Jamie Tarses, was with 'Scrubs' from 2001 to 2005. Chalke played Dr. Elliot Reid, her biggest role since she replaced Alicia Goranson as "Becky" on 'Roseanne' in 1993.

This is not the first casting issue for 'Mad Love' -- 'Party Down' co-star Lizzy Caplan was also originally cast in the series and played "Connie" in the pilot, but was not willing to commit to becoming a series regular, according to Headline Planet.

CBS seems poised to pick up 'Mad Love' for a 13-episode order as a mid-season replacement, but the deal has yet to be completed, most probably because of the casting issues. Headline Planet also mentioned that Judy Greer, a popular comic actress who has yet to find the right landing spot on television, is rumored to be in the running to replace Caplan.
