Judd Apatow Discusses How Awesome He Is on 'Bill Maher' (VIDEO)

Well, to be fair, the title of this column is slightly inaccurate. It's actually host Bill Maher who brings up the topic of the potential awesomeness of director Judd Apatow -- creator of such films as 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin' and 'Knocked Up.'As it turns out, Bill and Judd are good friends. And on 'Real Time With Bill Maher' (Fri., 10PM ET on HBO), Bill does his friend the honor of comparing him to famed director John Hughes. We're a little uncomfortable with anyone being compared to the god among men who made 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off.' But Apatow's movies are pretty consistently funny, so we'll let it pass.
Bill asks Judd how he manages to be so in tune with the "zeitgeist" -- i.e., how he manages to be so in tune with pop culture in general. Apatow says this in response: "Well, you know, there is a 'Zeitgeist Club.' And it's me, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Betty White. ...We decide everything; we're in charge of all entertainment."
Good to know! But does Justin Bieber have to be a member of the "Zeitgeist Club"? The kid is only 16 years old. Does this mean that there are still 60 or so years left of Justin Bieber influencing our lives? Will we still be hearing about him in the year 2070? Enough with the Bieber, already.*
(*And yes, we get that Apatow was joking. We just want to make sure that there is a guaranteed way to keep Bieber out of the club.)
