Gravity-Defying Dance Team on 'America's Got Talent' (VIDEO)

Gravity-Defying Dance Team on 'America's Got Talent'If you want to impress the judges on 'America's Got Talent' (Tue., 9PM ET on NBC), then you're going to have to do something unique. Which exactly what the dance troupe 'Fighting Gravity' does on the latest episode of the show.

[Spoiler alert.]

The dance team stuns the audience with an incredible, gravity-defying performance which takes place in the dark. It involves neon balls and people flying in the air, and it's all pretty awesome, really. You might need to go ahead and watch it for yourself.

Sadly, when the lights come on, it's revealed that it's not really magic. "Invisible" guys dressed in black suits were doing all of the heavy lifting, making men and balls float in midair. Well, as it turns out, you can't actually break the laws of gravity, after all.

Still, the performance is great enough that judge Sharon Osbourne calls it "perfect," and the team gets to move along to Las Vegas. Even more surprisingly, the members of the troupe aren't professional dancers! Anyway, awesome job, 'Fighting Gravity,' way to go!

if you want to see another amazing unique group check out Pilobulous on youtube. Its a dance academy that use their bodies to form figures and scenes while nude. Its not only hard but the have amazing strength since they use they're own bodies and physique to hold each other.

There was a woman from Canada I believe (not too sure) She had a group called Special People Players. It was a group of mentaly challenged adults who did the same kind of act. They were AMAZING I saw them many years ago and never forgot them. The show was probably one of the most entertaining I have seen and after the show when the cast was introduced, you could just see the pride in their faces. It was so touching not to mention a fantastic show. I often wonder if that group is still performing.

Though it's always entertaining to see stuff like this it's really not unique at all. The Scissor Sisters have worked with a group that does this type of Puppeteering for years now.

Wow, go to youtube and search for "Matrix Ping Pong". This routine was done in Japan years ago, and you can see exactly how they did it.

Cassy,

This is older than the group to whom you refer. Mummenschanz did it more than 30 years ago and intergrated it into one small part of their show. I still think "Gravity" does a good job, no matter where they gleaned their inspiration.

I agree with that it's quite possible they took the idea from Japan or Momix, and to clarify from what Tom S is saying, in a more eloquent way, Expression crew has been prestigous in the b-boy community for their performances when they had astounded the scene 4-5 years ago with their shows such as the Marionette (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8nE65JshkU). But they also did shows such as this blacklight effect and had their own different style from Momix, which you can check out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqNfREwQBNo

To sum it up, these people aren't that original or that talented in comparison to their predecessors.

They dressed in white. The "black-lights" make it look blue. Lights reminded me of my old hippie days lol
