Stanley CupThe icemen cometh -- and they brought big ratings.

The Stanley Cup deciding Game 6 between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Philadelphia Flyers on NBC Wednesday night scored a 5.8 household rating, which is the highest for a Stanley Cup final in 36 years, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The Blackhawks won in overtime, taking the Cup for the first time since 1961.

The series pitted two big-market teams against each other with large fan bases, plus the Flyers' playoff run this season had featured a string of improbable upsets. The Philadelphia team was recently featured on the HBO Sports special 'The Broad Street Bullies,' which depicted the '70s-era fighting Flyers.

The telecast Wednesday was up 41 percent from last year's final game, in which the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Detroit Red Wings for the title.

In other ratings news, Fox's 'So You Think You Can Dance' (8 million viewers, 3.0 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) rose seven percent this week, according to the report.
