'Colbert Report' Debates Validity of Soccer (VIDEO)

Every four years, Americans hear sports pundits musing over something called the World Cup. Soccer? Athletes from other countries? Stephen Colbert is confused, and challenges a writer on 'The Colbert Report' (weeknights, 11:30PM ET on COM) to defend the sport.

"Do you think that soccer is a sport?" asks Colbert. Counters the writer, "It's played by the greatest athletes in the world."

"They're not American athletes," says Colbert, with feigned jingoism.

"They're not freaks of nature ... someone who's 7-feet-5 and 365 pounds." Of course Colbert has a comeback for that argument as well.
