D.L. Hughley Lands Game Show on NBC
D.L. Hughley is to host a new game show for NBC titled 'Who's Bluffing Who?'.
According to the Hollywood Reporter NBC has ordered a pilot of the show in which 7 contestants will try to win half a million dollars. Each episode they will use their bluffing skills -- including possibly stealing each other's money -- to advance in the game as they are gradually whittled down to one winner.
Hughley is a stand-up comedian and actor, best-known for starring in the sitcom 'The Hughleys' and for being one of the four comedians featured by Spike Lee in 'The Original Kings of Comedy'. His previous TV hosting duties include 'BET's Comicview', 'Def Comedy Jam' and 'Weekends at the DL'. In 2008--09 he hosted his own show on CNN: 'D.L. Hughley Breaks the News'.
'Who's Bluffing Who?' will be helmed by producer Jeff Applofff ('Don't Forget the Lyrics!') and is a co-production between NBC and ITV Studios, the powerhouse behind 'Hell's Kitchen', 'Nanny 911' and 'Celebrity Fit Club'.
Meanwhile, ABC is also reported to be developing a deception-based game show: Mark Burnett's 'Trust Me, I'm a Game Show Host,' in which contestants have to figure out which of two game show hosts is lying. The hosts in the pilot are former 'Daily Show' correspondent Mo Rocca and comedian Bill Engvall ('Blue Collar TV').
