Isaiah Mustafa is riding his white horse straight to a primo gig with NBC. The Old Spice pitchman has inked a talent deal with the Peacock network, which could land him a role on one of its new or established shows, reports Variety. Mustafa's turn as the uber-confident macho man from the popular Old Spice commercial has already led to a guest spot on 'Oprah' and a comfortable level of fame in Hollywood. Now he's ready for his close-up after playing bit roles on 'Ugly Betty,' 'NCIS' and 'Castle.'
NBC casting exec Grace Wu says she hopes to put Mustafa's comedic skills to work on one of the net's more lighthearted shows. He could end up starring in a new pilot or possibly joining the cast of a show like 'Chuck' or the upcoming 'Love Bites.' That sounds just fine to the actor, who says he grew up on NBC laughers like 'The Cosby Show' and 'Family Ties.'
Mustafa hasn't jumped off his horse just yet. He's already shot another Old Spice ad, which is scheduled to air later this summer.
