True Blood Season 3 Preview
Sex! Blood! Werewolves! Eric's butt! Hang onto your vampire fedoras, because 'True Blood' is about to rock your socks off. Season three premieres Sunday, June 13 at 9PM ET on HBO.

Based on the first two episodes, the sexy goth-soap opera about vampires and other supernatural creatures will continue it's fangtastic run. If you prefer to be completely surprised when 'Bad Blood' airs Sunday night, you'd best stop reading here. You've been warned.

First, let's talk about werewolves. Yes, there are plenty of the furry creatures, and we don't have to wait long for them to make their presence known. Our own Laura Prudom talked with Joe Manganiello, who dished the dirt on his role as brooding werewolf Alcide Herveaux, whom he describes as the moral compass of the show. "He's a big, sensitive bunny rabbit inside of this wolf monster clothing."

The wolves have an interesting relationship with the vampires, made even more intense when sparks fly between Sookie and Alcide, who's looking after her while Bill's away. And what about Bill? The story picks up right where we left off in the season two finale, 'Beyond Here Lies' Nothin,' with Sookie frantically looking for Bill after his abduction from the restaurant.

Who stole him? Well, it could be any number of camps, including his nutty ex Lorena. But Sookie's first impression is Eric, whom we know has been trying to lure her away from Bill. Remember, Eric and Sookie are connected in a very intimate way, and there's a scene at the beginning of season three which would drive any girl mad -- except for Sookie. She's stuck on Bill, but their relationship gets very complicated.

While we've lost a few characters from season three, including Maryann the shaky Maenad and Tara's squeeze Eggs, there are a ton of new characters this season, including the aforementioned Alcide. I'm a little concerned that there might be too many characters and storylines churning to keep track of in season three. Time will tell on that score, but my advice is to stay focused while you're watching this season. Also, prepare yourself for lots of gore and some of the most twisted sex scenes ever on TV.

In the meantime, here's a quick rundown on some of the new folks:

Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare): The Vampire King of Mississippi.
Talbot (Theo Alexander): Edgington's romantic interest, described as "intensely beautiful."
Ruby Jean Reynolds (Alfre Woodard): Lafayette's mother.
Coot (Grant Bowler): A menacing werewolf.
Claudine (Lara Pulver): Sookie's faerie godmother.
Jesus Velasquez (Kevin Alejandro): A Latino orderly who works at a care facility where Ruby Jean Reynolds is staying and whom becomes romantically involved with Lafayette.
Franklin Mott (James Frain): A mysterious vampire who gets involved with Tara.
Tommy Mickens (Marshall Allman): Sam's long-lost younger sibling.
Debbie Pelt (Brit Morgan): Alcide's ex-girlfriend who has a problem with Sookie.
Holly (Lauren Bowles): A new waitress at Merlotte's.
Crystal (Lindsay Pulsipher): A mysterious girl who gets involved with Jason.

Season 3 if True Blood is going to be amazing if the first show is any indicator of what's to come for the season. I loved the first episode and look forward to watching each week. By the way, Charlaine Harris books are great! Just picked up my first copy of her book "Club Dead", and can't seem to put it down. True Blood if I have to make a comparison is little more intriguing, entertaining, and sexy.
