Doing Cocaine on 'Party Down' (VIDEO)

Doing Cocaine on 'Party Down'On the latest episode of 'Party Down' (Fri., 10PM ET on Starz), the gang caters a big-deal Hollywood party. But will the group be able to handle the bright lights and the fame?

[Spoiler alert.]

The catering company is hired to do a party at Steve Guttenberg's house. While at the party, Lydia (Megan Mullally) goes to the bathroom, where she finds that she has run out of "powder" for her nose.

Unfortunately, her request for nose powder is misconstrued by the Hollywood starlet in the bathroom -- who ends up giving Lydia ... a lot of cocaine. Lydia ends up telling a fairly drug-addled story about revenge, cars, and "fish smell" to her befuddled co-workers. At the end of the story, Lydia pauses and says this, "My mouth is dry." Why, yes. That might be the "nose powder" talking.

This post was so obviously written by someone who spent 30 seconds Googling the show rather than watching it.

Steve Guttenberg was not in this episode. Oddly enough, he was in the one titled "Steve Guttenberg's Birthday". Huh. Who would've thought?

Additionally, this show didn't cast the Gutte because he's the "biggest" they could get. I'm sure, with the cast and creative team's connections to the Apatow crew, Christopher Guest's troupe, and The State, they could get any number of high-profile guest stars (And, in fact, they often do. Ever heard of Kristen Bell?). If you'd watch the show, you'd see why they chose Guttenberg, and why that episode was one of the funniest episodes of television I've ever seen.

I realize that this is a ridiculously long and angry response to a throwaway blog post that very few people will ever see, but I don't care.

In conclusion, if you're going to write for a TV blog, TRY WATCHING THE SHOW.
