A Rookie Mistake Nearly Leads to Death on 'Ice Road Truckers' (VIDEO)

Look, we'll be honest. We don't know a lot about driving a truck over a thousand miles of frozen wasteland. It's just not our area of expertise. But we do know one thing. If you're going to journey through endless stretches of ice and snow, then you should at least put snow chains on your tires. It's just common sense. But the new driver on 'Ice Road Truckers' (Sun., 9PM ET on History) seems not to have gotten this memo. In attempt to make better time, he doesn't bother to upgrade his wheels, meaning that he's just using regular tires. Not good. As a result, rookie driver Ray Veilleux nearly falls over a 1000-foot cliff. Whoops!
Ray survives, and learns his lesson, and quickly switches over to heavy-duty tires. Here's betting that he doesn't make the same mistake again.
