Gilford, Palicki, Kitsch Return for More 'Friday Night Lights' Action

by Harley W. Lond, posted Jun 14th 2010 8:52PM
As 'Friday Night Lights' gets ready to gear up for its fifth and most-likely final season (which begins this fall on DirecTV), The Ausiello Files has revealed that three of the show's all-stars will return to Dillon: Zach Gilford (Matt), Adrianne Palicki (Tyra) and Taylor Kitsch (Tim) have finalized deals to appear in multiple episodes of the series.

According to Ausiello, Gilford is returning for four episodes (including the finale), Palicki will guest in the last two episodes, and Kitsch has signed on for the final four.

Gilford is getting Emmy buzz and enjoying the best reviews of his career for an episode in which his character, Matt, mourned the death of his father. Fans have been lobbying to get him an award in the guest actor category. In particular, PopEater is leading the official push to get Gilford nominated for 'The Son' episode and has mounted a campaign at Facebook.

It's a grassroots campaign for a true grassroots show.

Just want to echo Bubba and brett's posts--FNL is one of the best shows on TV. I watched Seasons 1-3 on Netflix and it was well worth the effort. One of the best portrayals of small-town life and husband-wife interaction (through the Taylors) on TV.

What's an example of a good show to you? I agree that some good shows lately have been canceled (Better Off Ted, for example). Maybe this show is cheaper than most? Plus, I know NBC has a deal with DirectTV for its funding. It's also a great show. I'd recommend watching it, if you haven't already.

Maybe you should watch the show before popping off. It's clearly one of the best shows on television.
