Rachel Maddow Discusses Rush Limbaugh's Big Gay Wedding (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jun 14th 2010 1:15AM
Rachel Maddow Discusses Rush Limbaugh's Big Gay WeddingIn surprising recent news, Rush Limbaugh had Elton John perform at his wedding ceremony. It was Limbaugh's fourth wedding, and the singer received a $1 million fee to play at the event.

On 'Real Time With Bill Maher' (Fri., 10PM ET on HBO), Maher and his guests discussed the controversy. Elton John is -- quite obviously -- gay, and Rush Limbaugh has frequently come out strongly against gay marriage and gay rights. As a result, many people felt that Elton's performance was ... odd, to say the least.

Appearing on the show was MSNBC personality Rachel Maddow, the first openly gay anchor to host a prime-time TV program. Maher asked her how much money it would take to get her to sing at Rush's marriage. Maddow replied that she was "sort of against weddings" in general.

She also expressed hope that Elton John would take the one million dollars and use it to support gay rights. So what do you think? Elton at Rush's wedding? Good idea or just really weird?

So, making a gay joke makes you hate gays?

And actually at one time I did listen to Rush Limbaugh (I would switch between the conservative station and the liberal station, just so you know), and I would watch things being taken out of context and painted in a different light all the time. (See the Magic N3gr0 song, which was MAKING FUN of a liberal LA Times article. The song was not racist, but the article damn well was.)

So again, are you telling me you know the mans heart?

(I'm not seing the post, so I had to change a relevant word. But excuse me if it's doubled)

Perhaps she's against weddings because she doesn't have the same rights in this country to marry who she pleases as straight people do??

Also, Rush Limbaugh is not just against gay marriage he is anti-gay and homophobic in general.

Rush Limbaugh has the same views on gay marriage as President Obama and Elton John. They all favor civil unions as an alternative to gay marriage.

"sort of against weddings"

That's tells everything you need to know about her and gives insight into her lifestyle. She's no better than Rush Limbaugh.

As for Elton performing at Rush's wedding, what does it matter? Rush Limbaugh is just a marketer for the audience he's trying to cash in off of (just like Glenn Beck) and doesn't really believe in what he says.

Democrats, Republicans, Leftist pundits, "Conservative" pundits...they're all liars and deceivers with dollar signs in their eyes. Bill Maher, Rachel Maddow, Glenn Beck all of them are liars who believe in nothing they say.

Jon: That's tells everything you need to know about her and gives insight into her lifestyle.

Really, her lifestyle is an issue? She's educated. She gives back to the community. She's been with the same woman for 11 years. They have a home in the western MA hills and she has never been accused of anything illegal. Sounds like a very nice lifestyle.
Rush on the other hand is on wifey #4, is a drug addict and worse, his hatred and fears are projected onto his simple-minded sheep.
