It's Official: Michaele Salahi Will Appear on 'Real Housewives of D.C.'
Bravo's 'The Real Housewives' series is the best platform for ill-behaved affluent people to become instant celebrities. The next edition of the series, 'The Real Housewives of D.C.,' will feature a couple that doesn't need the help. Bravo has confirmed that Michaele and Tareq Salahi, who found fame by gatecrashing a White House dinner in November, will be featured on the series. According to the Washington Post, they'll join interior designer Catherine Ashley Ommanney, socialite Mary Schmidt Amons, real estate agent Stacie Scott Turner and modeling firm owner Lynda Erkiletian on the show, which began taping last year before the dinner incident.
The Salahis are still the subject of a federal investigation for showing up uninvited to a state dinner attended by President Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. It is unclear how the Salahis managed to gain access to the party without an invitation and make it past supposedly tight security.
The Post also reported last month that Tareq Salahi is being investigated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture over a grant he received for a report on Virginia winery tourism. The Post claims a source told them the suit revolved around whether Salahi "recycled the results of an earlier study."
The Salahis are also known for their family vineyard, Oasis Winery, and their annual America's Polo Cup event. 'The Real Housewives of D.C.' premiers Aug. 5 on Bravo.
