'Wipeout' Host Jill Wagner Talks New Obstacles, Themed Shows & Big Balls (VIDEO)

by Maggie Furlong, posted Jun 15th 2010 10:00AM
Jill Wagner, 'Wipeout' hostJill Wagner is tough. Not only does she take barbs from 'Wipeout' co-hosts John Henson and John Anderson like a champ, she does it all on the ground where mud flies, water splashes and contestants are dropping like flies.

'Wipeout' is returning for a third season (premieres Thurs., June 22, 8PM ET on ABC) and they've got a twist on the "motivator" and some new themed episodes to spice things up. Of course, when you combine a theme like moms and sons with those Big Balls, it's TV gold. "Moms and sons definitely need to experience Big Balls together," Wagner says with a straight face. Love her.

Watch and see what else the delightful Ms. Wagner had to say about meeting fans, taking bribes to get people on the show and why "watching people fall is just funny." Agreed!

I agree, this is one of the most stupid shows I have ever seen. I do not find people falling during all of these stunts the least bit funny.

Well, if this is what ABC sees as "high humor" (apparently you have to be high to really appreciate it), I was right in curtailing my viewing of ABC programming when they took off the air shows like "Eli Stone" and "And Pushing Daisies." It seems like they want people who consider "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette," both of which seem to enjoy debasing the very people they supposedly seek to attract--the gullible and easily entertained, with attention spans so short they can't follow a storyline. Good luck to them, then. The only shows I watch on ABC are "Castle" and "Modern Family." I think I'll keep it that way.
