John Goodman Talks Massive Weight Loss on 'Late Show' (VIDEO)

John Goodman Talks Weight Loss on 'Late Show'A fitter, happier (more productive?) John Goodman appeared on the 'Late Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS) and talked openly about his weight loss and being sober. He admitted his all-time high was "pushing 400" pounds and he was "breaking furniture, for lord's sake!"

"Now that you've stopped the drinking, well there's the answer to your [weight-gain] problems," said David Letterman. Responded Goodman, "I hit it pretty hard for 30 years, and there was a lot of residual damage."

"You have a target weight we can hope for?" asked the host. Goodman deadpanned, "Thirty pounds." Good to see he hasn't lost his sense of humor.

I am someone who has loved John Goodman for many years - he is wonderfully talented and can easily make me laugh. Have followed him in many different roles. But I have been concerned at times more recently about his weight and health and was worried I'd one day soon be reading about his death from a heart attack similar to Chris Farley. That would be such a loss! I'm so glad he has been working on his health - You Go John! It's really hard to do - I know!!

you do know, don't you, that John Goodman was just an actor and wasnt really married to Roseanne?? He didnt have to "put up" with that fat ugly witch for all those years, he just had to show up a few hours a week and ACT like he was putting up with that fat ugly witch, and anyway, that is no excuse for him to become a hideous, morbidly obese disgusting overeating PIG, not to mention a DRUNK. Shame on him for being such a glutton, eating like two pigs an drinking away his millions, while other people are starving.

Hey Derrell, if those "stupid fat ass pigs" as you call them, are ignorant, can you imagine what people think of you?

The people who are offended and outspoken by others that are overweight are clueless. Most overweight people do not choose to be that way, circumstances, biological factors, etc often play key roles in becoming overweight. So the mean person who has been posting better watch out a fat nurse just might save your life one day. Ha!
