Showtime Picks Up Last Chapter of 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl'

Showtime is making one more entry in the 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl.'

The UK-based comedy series, produced by Britain's ITV, is currently shooting its fourth -- and final -- season, and Showtime has picked it up for airing in the states, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series has been a modest success here and abroad.

'Doctor Who' alumnus Billie Piper stars as a seemingly normal London woman who has a secret life as a call girl. The series is based on the writings of a real-life escort who calls herself Belle de Jour.

Earlier this week, Piper told The Sun newspaper that a feature film based on the series was a distinct possibility.

Season 4 will includes eight, half-hour episodes.
