The First Winner on 'Top Chef' (VIDEO)

'Top Chef' is back! For our new season, we're in Washington, D.C. We're joined by old judges Padma, Tom, and Gail -- and new judge Eric Ripert. Let's get right to the first winner on the premiere episode, shall we?[Spoiler alert.]
As is always the case on 'Top Chef' (Wed., 9PM ET on Bravo), the competition was fierce. But contestant Angelo Sosa came out on top, winning both the "Quickfire" and the final challenge. His dish of Arctic char with tapioca and "bacon foam" won over the judges. Of course it did! Everything is better with bacon. Cooking with bacon isn't just a good idea on reality TV -- it's also a good idea for all of life.
After his victory, Angelo took a little time out to gloat. "I win!" he said. Then, speaking of the other players, he added this: "They're gonna be chasing me this whole time; and I will set the presidents." Um, dude? The "presidents"? We think you were trying to use the word "precedent." Although maybe by saying "presidents," Angelo was trying to make a D.C. reference, what with the show being set there and all. But really, probably not.
Still, despite the minor verbal flub, Angelo did great. Now, we'll have to tune in next week to see who the next winner will be.
