The King Prepares to Die on 'The Tudors' (VIDEO)

The TudorsIt's been a long road for King Henry on 'The Tudors' (Sun., 9PM ET on Showtime), and he hasn't aged well. He's had all sorts of health problems, and the time has come for him to bid farewell to his family.

And let's face it. It can't be easy for a handsome actor like Jonathan Rhys-Meyers to see himself age on screen right before his very eyes. Downright frightening, I'd say!

We were lucky enough to have had a spell of free "Showtime", when S4 premiered, so I only got to watch the first 3 episodes, but have kept up with what was happening as best I could.

Actually he made out pretty good when you consider what the REAL Henry looked like in his older years! I read last year that Jonathan was dreading being made to look old and fat. He supposedly was very happy when he was told they opted to take it easy on him.

I'm definitely going to buy S4 as soon as it's available on DVD!

The part where I was quoting "And let's face it. It can't be easy for a handsome actor like Jonathan Rhys-Meyers to see himself age on screen right before his very eyes. Downright frightening, I'd say!" was supposed to come out italicized, but I guess html doesn't work here. My apoligies!

Sad to see "The Tudors" end. It was a very good historical series with superb acting. You could really tell that Elizabeth was really broken up about her father's upcoming death. NOT...but who can blame her.

I wonder why he sent his wife away. She actually made him a good wife, and seemed to love him. Amazing.

"The Tudors" will be missed by me. I just wish they would continue on with the series about Edward, "Bloody Mary" and finally Elizabeth seizing the throne. They are "Tudors" after all.

Showtime is going to have The Borgias next, so that's something to look forward to!
