Fans to Shape Syfy Original Movie

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 22nd 2010 11:00AM
SyfySyfy has become notorious for the infamous "quality" of its Saturday night original movies. ('Mansquito,' anyone?)

Now, it's turning the tables on it's fans by allowing them the chance to get involved in the development of an upcoming movie, according to the Live Feed.

In conjunction with IGN, Syfy has created the production site B Movie Mogul, which goes live this Friday. Fans will be able to vote on everything from the film's title, creatures, dialogue, wardrobe, deaths and even the tag line. First up, the basic concept of the movie: Bermuda Triangle creature, Roswell alien or 2010 apocalypse.

"We constantly have fans e-mailing with compliments, complaints and questions about our movies, and this is a way of involving the fans in a new way," said Thomas Vitale, executive VP programming and original movies. "When you have a lot of people working on something, good ideas will come out of it."
