'Bachelor' Break-Up: Jake and Vienna Call It Quits
Unless you suffered a tragic all-day power outage in the past 24 hours and were cruelly separated from the Internet, you've probably already heard that hunky Texan pilot Jake Pavelka (last season's 'Bachelor') and his bride-to-be Vienna Girardi have officially broken off their engagement, adding them to the long list of 'Bachelor' and 'Bachelorette' couples who couldn't go the distance. Speculation is still running rampant amongst bloggers and tabloids regarding the true cause of the split; TMZ can't quite decide whether Jake dropped Vienna over suspicions that the Floridian daddy's girl was stepping out on him with 'Greek' star Gregory Michael, or if Vienna gave up on Jake for being a "fame whore" -- ouch. And I thought everyone who appeared on a reality dating show just wanted to live quiet, drama free lives ...
But now, our distinguished sister site, PopEater, has scoop from Star Magazine that claims Vienna wasn't just tired of Jake's showboating, she was tired of the lack of action in the bedroom too!
More juice after the jump ...
In what looks to be the most trashy of tell-all interviews, Vienna reveals to Star that she and Jake "haven't been intimate in months" and that Jake refused to show her any emotion or attention unless they were "on a red carpet or if cameras are there ... Besides that, I have to ask for a kiss."
She also slams our 'Bachelor's' bedroom prowess, dishing that Jake gave her constant excuses to avoid getting their freak on. Hmm ....
Meanwhile, Jake told paps at LAX that he's "saddened by the whole thing," but that he and Vienna will always remain friends. We're guessing the pilot will change his flightplan after he reads what his alleged lady love has been saying about him in the press.
The split, which TMZ are already hyperbolically referring to as "the break-up of the century" (lest we forget, Britney and Justin, Brad and Jen, Bennifer 1.0) should come as a shock to precisely no-one, considering that only four 'Bachelor/ette' love matches are still going strong today out of 20 seasons.
And what of current 'Bachelorette' Ali? Had the planets aligned differently, it might have been Ali vs. Vienna in the showdown for Jake's heart, and our money would've been on Ms. Fedotowsky for the win. Their genuine chemistry (or as genuine as chemistry can be on a reality show) and mutual affection seemed much more solid than Vienna's spoiled little rich girl routine. But alas, Ali's job got in the way, and got her a turn as the 'Bachelorette' instead.
Would she consider taking Jake back now that Vienna's canoodling with a frat boy? Not according to E!Online; apparently Ali told them, "I've made a decision to move forward in my life. [Taking Jake back] just wouldn't be fair to the guys here, and it took some time, but I'm healed and moved on from Jake."
But moving on from Jake doesn't necessarily mean moving on to one of her own bachelors -- speculation abounds that Ali might not choose anyone when her 'Bachelorette' season wraps up, and while Roberto and Chris L. look like front-runners right now, is it possible that Ali might decide that the connection isn't there with any of her potential suitors?
Thankfully, there's little chance of Ali doing a Jake and falling for her own version of Vienna (the controversial Justin 'Rated R' Rego, who has proved a lightning rod in the 'Bachelorette' house), if next week's promos are to be believed, but it'll be another few weeks before we get to the final rose ceremony and see whether Ali takes the plunge with any of her (arguably lackluster) guys.
After all, it's better to take things slow than to let a little thing like a network TV camera crew and a free engagement ring force a rushed decision; Jake and Vienna are proof of that.
Do you think an Ali and Jake reunion is on the cards, despite what Ali says? Is Jake a "fame whore" or do you think Vienna really was cheating on her man? Do you give a damn at all, or would you rather all these fake relationships disappeared from our screens altogether? Sound off below!
