Valerie Bertinelli Films Talk Show Pilot
Competition is heating up for the timeslot that will be vacated when the CBS daytime soap opera 'As The World Turns' ends it long run in September. The newest entry: a talk show co-hosted by Valerie Bertinelli.According to 'Broadcasting & Cable,' CBS Television Distribution filmed a pilot last month for 'Say It Now' (working title), as a possible replacement for the soap.
A live and daily talk show, the pilot was co-hosted by Bertinelli, who is currently starring in the TV Land sitcom 'Hot in Cleveland' and has a development deal with CTD, and Rove McManus, who hosts a popular talk show in Australia. No other information was given about the show's content or if a live audience would be involved in the program.
'Say It Now' isn't a clear lock to replace 'ATWT,' as it is one of many shows currently vying for the soap's timeslot. Competitors include remakes of classic game shows 'Pyramid' and 'Password' and a 'View'-style show that would star Julie Chen, Leah Remini, Holly Robinson Peete and Sharon Osbourne.
No word from CBS when a decision will be made.
