TV Land Getting Real With George Hamilton

Let's hope TV Land has a little extra something in its budget for regular Mystic Tan sessions, because the network is developing a reality series with the most tanned man in Hollywood, George Hamilton.

Actually, The Hollywood Reporter is calling the show a "docusoap," as the series would star Hamilton, his tabloid-dwelling 35-year-old son Ashley and his 10-year-old son George Thomas, as they all live together in Los Angeles. (And yes, the 10-year-old son is George Hamilton's offspring ... 70-year-old George has a 10-year-old son. Seriously.)
In a celebreality spin on 'Two and a Half Men,' the show will specifically focus on the elder Hamiltons as perpetual bachelors who have to try to act more maturely when George Thomas, whose mom is George's ex Kimberly Blackford, comes to crash with them.

'The Real World' and 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' production company Bunim/Murray is behind the show, which TV Land hopes will follow in the successful footsteps of its recent Betty White sitcom 'Hot in Cleveland.' TV Land is also set to premiere another docusoap (reality series), 'Harry Loves Lisa,' in the fall. The show revolves around the hectic life of the two-actor household of 'Melrose Place' alum Lisa Rinna and her 'Veronica Mars' hubby Harry Hamlin.

For Hamilton, meanwhile, this new venture into reality TV certainly isn't his first. He was among the cast of the British version of 'I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me out of Here!' last fall (before quitting the jungle series, even though he was considered a favorite to win), and he hosted 'The Family,' the one-season 2003 reality competition in which an Italian fam from New York vied against each other to nab a million-dollar prize.

He also competed on the second season of 'Dancing With the Stars,' and was rumored to be Bob Barker's replacement on 'The Price Is Right' before Drew Carey was hired as new 'TPIR' host.

Hamilton also produced the 2009 Renee Zellweger big-screen dramedy 'My One and Only,' a tale that was loosely based on Hamilton's own life with his mother, Anne, who embarks on a whirlwind road trip to find a new husband and father for her sons.

Ashley Hamilton, George Hamilton's son with ex-wife Alanna Stewart, also competed on 'Dancing With the Stars,' briefly starred on the now-defunct soap 'Sunset Beach' and has performed as a singer and stand-up comedian, but is best known for his hard-partying past and brief marriages to Shannen Doherty and Angie Everhart.
