'Hung' - 'Just the Tip' Recap (Season Premiere)

Hung: Just the Tip
(S02E01) "Not to be mean, mom, but you just seem like a totally lost person to me." - Darby to Jessica

I was just about to say that things are looking pretty bleak for everyone in Ray's world -- including Ray. But maybe I'm looking at things the wrong way. Maybe we just need to see the good things happening here. Yeah, things aren't so bad, after all.

First of all, Ray started the episode by feeling a little blue about Jessica and his life in general. But he managed to turn things around. Instead of sinking into listlessness over her animosity towards life, he saw it as an opportunity to fill a hole. (No, not that kind of hole, but rather, an emotional hole.) He relaxed. He listened to her. He persuaded her to bowl a few games with him, and they were happy.

He's also seeing an opportunity with the baseball team at school. Despite the fact that Detroit is in an economic decline, he's vowing to do everything he can to make sure they go to the state championships. Go, team! And go, Ray! Where there's a will, there's a way. And a Ray, too.

Meanwhile, Tanya's seeking out valuable info from a professional pimp. Figure out what your people's problems are and fix them. Figure out what they need and give it to them. For Ray, that meant taking him a burger and advising him to see Claire as Jessica when they were married and she was pregnant with their children.

I don't know how things are going to turn out with Tanya and Lenore and Ray. I'm pulling for Tanya, though, just because I always pull for the underdog. She's got spunk, even if she has no idea what she's doing.

Darby and Damon have always been a little on the downer side, and they still are. But they're interesting and quirky and not the usual sort of Hollywood kids you see on TV, which makes them OK in my book.

What are your thoughts on this season two premiere of 'Hung'? Are you, like me, pulling for Ray and Jessica to get back together? There definitely seems to be something missing in her life. Maybe it's Ray.

Catch a clip from last night's 'Hung' to the left. Ray lies to a pregnant woman.

Lenore's interpretation of the Diego Rivera mural was comedy gold.

I loved this episode the kids are way different than any other children on TV and Tanya does have spunk and shouldn't have to share Ray with Lenore whose a bitch this show has gotten better and it may become one of the best on Tv
