What to Watch: June 28 - July 4

The Good Guys - Monday June 28, 9 pm ET/PT, Global/Fox

Without meaning to, I've managed to catch every episode of 'The Good Guys' since it debuted earlier this summer, and I'm starting to warm up to the show. There is something not-quite-right about the comedic timing of the Tarantino-style flashbacks but I do get a chuckle out of Bradley Whitford's anachronistic cop sometimes. This week, a bad interrogation leads to a dealer being let out on the street -- and of course the boys vow to bring him back in.

Also This Week:

Hawthorne - Thursday July 1, 10 pm ET/PT, Global

This new-to-Canada medical series features Jada Pinkett Smith as chief nursing officer Christina Hawthorne and the delicious Michael Vartan as the chief of surgery. With these two as leads, one expects a lot more from the show than tired cliches. Unfortunately, that's all that's on offer here.

Friday Night Lights - Friday July 2, 8 pm ET/PT, Global/NBC

Season 4 continues to show us a darker side of Dillon, as Coach and Buddy try to get the lights turned on in an urban park where many of the players hang out. Meanwhile, if you ever wondered what Becky and Luke got up to after they went to the car wash a few weeks back, tonight's the night you'll find out. Julie gets a new interest when she volunteers with Habitat for Humanity -- and a new love interest too.

Just For Laughs' Hinglish - Sunday July 4, 7 pm ET, Omni/Omni 2

This comedy special features three up-and-coming comics cutting it up in two languages -- English and Hindi. Filmed during the 2009 Just For Laughs Festival, it includes sets from Sunil Pal, Paul Varghese and Papa CJ, with Sugar Sammy hosting. The English sets run tonight, with Hindi running next week (with English subtitles) but some of these performers have been known to change languages mid-sentence. Can you keep up?
