IFC's 'The Whitest Kids U'Know' Reunite Live in New York

For those who think the best sketch comedy appears only on 'Saturday Night Live' or 'Funny or Die,' you're missing the most talented sketch group since 'Kids in the Hall.' IFC's 'The Whitest Kids U'Know' just began airing its fourth season on Friday nights at 10PM ET and it is the most consistently hilarious sketch comedy show on TV.

This weekend, Sam Brown, Zach Cregger, Trevor Moore, Darren Trumeter and Timmy Williams reunited live at Piano's, the Manhattan club where they perfected their act. It has been three years since they've performed there live. However, they know the stage well after doing a new sketch comedy show there every Sunday night for years before getting their TV show.

"We realized early on we couldn't perfect everything each week," Cregger told TV Squad after the show. "It was more fun just to embrace the chaos on stage. We let that be our voice."

Cregger emphasized this during last night's show. In a fortune-teller scene, he's told by Trumeter that a ghost is "teabagging" his head. While trying to get the ghost off him, Cregger waved a chair right into the ceiling, causing a large panel to fall.

Luckily, no Kid was injured, but that wouldn't have been the first time. Trumeter once broke his arm on stage at Piano's. During 'Astronaut Mess,' a sketch the Kids also shot for their first season, a large metal table fell on him.

While their TV show is great, to see The Whitest Kids live is an even bigger treat (even for this couch potato). Their bare bones approach and quick-pace makes their show as intimate as stand-up comedy and as immediate as live improv. Unfortunately, their live shows are infrequent now. They haven't performed together since the San Francisco SketchFest in January, because the group members have been split up over the last year with Brown and Moore now living in Los Angeles and Williams in Oregon.

"[My wife and I] have chickens there named Sam, Zach, Trevor, Darren," said Williams, proud of his new 'Green Acres' life. "Right now we have friends watching over the place. I guess some kids were shooting pellet guns at the chickens yesterday, so they had to chase them off."

Currently, all members are together in New York to shoot the fifth season of their IFC show.

"We've been shooting long hours five days a week," Brown said. "We have to be up at 5AM tomorrow. And I didn't even get a break from them this weekend because of the show tonight. I hate these guys!"

The nearby PR rep looked worried by Brown's outburst. He was quick to smile and let her know he was just kidding.
