Talk about a pregnant pause: According to the Ausiello Files, NBC has shifted its upcoming love anthology series 'Love Bites' to midseason, because star Becki Newton ('Ugly Betty') is pregnant with her first child and Cindy Chupack ('Sex and the City') has decided to step down as showrunner.'Love Bites' was expected to air Thursdays this fall in NBC's prime 10PM timeslot.
"Launching an anthology series, which breaks the form in so many ways, is a huge undertaking, and I strongly feel that I can be most helpful not showrunning, but writing. It just become clear that for several reasons, some of them personal, this change (and a little more time) is what we need to launch this show properly," Chupack said in a statement.
According to the report, NBC will instead air a brand-new season of 'The Apprentice,' which is already well into production.
Meanwhile, as previously reportedly, co-star Jordana Spiro is leaving the show due to her commitment to the TBS comedy series 'My Boys.'
