The Grossest Home in the Country on 'Clean House' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 1st 2010 2:50AM
The Grossest Home in the Country on 'Clean House'The search is finally over. All season long, Niecy Nash and her team have been looking for the most disgusting home in the nation on 'Clean House' (Wed., 10PM ET on Style). But now, the quest is finished. There could be no grosser house than this.

So what's the nastiest home in America actually like? It looks shockingly normal from the outside. But once the team walks through the door, everything clicks into place. Every room is literally buried in junk. The family is a group of shopaholics who have covered everything with garbage. How bad is it? It's so bad that the family lost a wedding ring somewhere within the piles of trash -- and they lost that ring ten years ago. Rather then bothering to clean up, the husband and wife just bought a new ring.

Host Niecy Nash simply can't believe what she's seeing, and keeps screaming in terror. "Are you crazy?!" she yells at the family.

But it gets worse from there. The place is so nasty that when the team tries to clean it, they have to wear biohazard suits, in order to protect themselves from infection. And even then, they have to run out of the place in horror.

Clearly, this is not staged. First of all, the black mold in the basement was very real. Second, many people smile out of embarassment. I would agree that the family was lazy and lacked "real" parental authority and guidance, but the show was not staged. After a bout with cancer and another life changing disease (graves), I am sure depression was a factor. I am happy that they got an opportunity for a fresh start. This is the premise of the show~the negative comments are uncalled for.

I watched this last night and in spite if the cries of depression and worry, the bottom line is that this family is LAZY. So many familie sout there struggling to make ends meet who still have the respect and dignity and pride to keep their home clean and neat. It hit me last night that this show REWARDS the lazy. Pick some family whose Dad is out of work or a single-Mom struggling yet who keep their homes up. Come on, instead of washing clothes they throw them on the floor and buy all new ones? Black mold in the basement because they were too lazy to pick up soaked clothes in the basement after a flood? A lot of insurance companies won't pay for black mold yet Style picked up the tab to sanitize and redo the entire basement - with new furniture and pool table to boot? At least on Hoarders they admit they have a problem and get help cleaning. These people get all new furniture, appliances, new counter tops? Disgusting.

Hey Imagenius, not!!!!You need to watch Hoarders on A % E and Hoarders,Buried Alive on TLC( think its the LTC ).Those shows aren't stunts. Many of the people live that way for years.

I would like to add two comments. Number one this seems like they pulled a stunt. The family seems abnormally happy for such a disaster. I have dealt with enough Gangsters to know when they are fibbin'. These people had all of their ''homies'' come over with their junk and then poured it into the livingroom. If your fell for this then you also probable fell for Barack Hussein Obama in 2008.

that is just cluttered,(actually looks like they piled more stuff up just to win) NOW if you wanna see dirty you need to see my brother-in-laws house. Just an example but if you can imagine the nastiest gas station bathroom , I'd rather use it than the one in their house. And the kitchen the health department should condem along with the rest of the house. And their house is not just clutter it is years of nastienest and filth that is not cleaned.

Hoarders are mentally ill persons from just about every adlut age group. Many are so afraid to throw anything away because they might be able to use it. I responded to a house in El Paso,Texas where the gentleman had not been seen for several days and the front door was open. THe fire department and I entered the house by pushing through a unusual amonut fo old electronics and books and found the gentleman dead in the bathroom. ONe fireman had to remove his turnouts to climb through an opening that went from the front door to the kitchen, bathroom and an bed. We had to call out CSI to photograph all the clutter and explain why we had to remove the bathroom window as there was no way we could retrieve the body any other way. The relatives were located through the previous employer and after they arrived to take care of the funeral arrangements they visited the house and call out a company to help remove the clutter. It took four twenty foot dumpsters to remove all the electronics and books that we not salvagible over a two week period. The house was a small 2 bedroom house woth a bath and kitchen. Most of the clutter was stack eight feet high. The gentleman was a good electronic enginner that work for a television station and otherwise in good health until after his retirment. The elderly are more common to have a hoarding syndrome because of the young life during the depression. Shows like this one are not reality as hoarders do not want strangers in their houses poking around. The people depicted above just wanted their name and face on television. They have a mental disorder but not a hoarder disorder. Nissy should be ashamed of herself and her television crew.
