When Dakota Fanning Met Regis Philbin, Little Sis Elle Freaked Out Before Robert Pattinson, the Jonas brothers and Justin Timberlake, there was ... Regis Philbin? Yeah, he's the only star actress Dakota Fanning has stood in line to meet, she revealed on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12:05AM ET on ABC).

During Philbin's 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' days, 6-year-old Fanning, her mother and 2-year-old sister Elle went to the mall to buy a Philbin-brand tie for their dad and get his autograph. Philbin signed the receipt ("38 bucks for the tie," Jimmy Kimmel noted), and Fanning was satisfied. Her little sister was not.

"She's in my mom's arms," said Fanning. "She didn't get an autograph and didn't get to meet Regis. So we're walking away through the Macy's, and my sister's going, 'Regis, Regis!' -- crying for Regis!"

"Yeah, well nothing breaks a kid's heart like not getting to meet Regis," joked Kimmel, comparing him to yet another current idol popular with teen girls...

I know its messed up to say but she looks like a f'n mess!!! With all the money she has you would think she could have at least fixed those teeth! She looks like a 70's disco whore....

She could have picked some one better than Regis, I mean didn't she watch Mickey Mouse Club or something more geared for her age? But she is a very talented and pretty young lady..wish her all the luck.

You probably aren't around kids much, but you never can predict what or who they will like. I like the story of the boy whose Make-A-Wish wish was to meet Simon Cowell.

Yes, she has. She is beautiful but it was pretty obvious that when she was young and so adorably cute that she would turn out to be attractive when she grew up. It's not always that way but odds are usually in that favor.
