What to Watch: July 5 - July 11

by Stephanie Earp, posted Jul 5th 2010 2:00AM
The Bachelorette - Monday July 5, 8 pm ET/PT, Citytv/ABC

Ali whittles it down to four totally inappropriate guys and prepares to return to the States to meet their families. But the big news here is the episode is followed by an interview with recently-split 'Bachelor' couple Jake and Vienna, as they engage in a heated 'He said, she said' with eminently qualified couples counsellor Chris Harrison.

Also This Week:

Hot in Cleveland - Monday July 5, 8 pm ET/PT, CTV

The title of this show has got to be a reference to Liz Lemon's experiences in the city, where she discovers that she's mistaken for a model. Let's hope it's as funny as '30 Rock'. With Betty White, Jane Leeves, Valerie Bertinelli and Wendie Malick in the cast, it could be. The premise is simple -- three fabulous friends get stranded in Cleveland and decide to stay, renting rooms from Betty White. The show comes from TV Land, and is the station's first scripted comedy.

Comedy Now: Dana Alexander
- Saturday July 10, 10 pm ET/PT, CTV

Sort of an emerging female Chris Rock, Canadian comedian Dana Alexander finds original material in the well-trod areas of women vs. men and the differences between Canadian and Americans and blacks and whites. Hers is not so much a guffaw type of humour, but you'll be thinking about her one-liners for days.

The Beat
- Sunday July 11, 10 pm ET/PT, Citytv

This docu-drama features real footage of police in Vancouver's Downtown East Side, the notorious inner city slum that seems more like 'The Wire's' Baltimore than 'Caprica.' Back-to-back episodes kick off the series tonight.
