Disney Channel Announces Latest Made-for-TV Movie

The people who brought you 'The Mighty Ducks' on the big and small screen are heading back to the rink for another story about a hockey player. Disney is getting ready to release 'Den Brother,' a made-for-TV film, on its Disney Channel, according to Variety.Hutch Dano, of the Disney Channel's 'Zeke and Luther' and the upcoming film 'Ramona and Beezus,' plays an arrogant hockey player who is suspended from his team and forced to lead his little sister's scouting group. He then tries to date the leader of another scout troupe, with help from his girls.
G. Hannelius, of 'Sonny with a Chance' and the upcoming 'The Search for Santa Paws,' plays little sister Emily. Kelsey Chow of 'One Tree Hill' plays the love interest Matisse. Mark L. Taylor, who directed 'Hooking Up' and was a regular in the cast of 'Saving Grace,' directed the film.
James Kreig, who often works in the super hero genre, writing episodes of the 'Ben Ten: Alien Force' and 'Batman: The Brave and the Bold,' is credited with the teleplay of a story by 'Burn Notice' writer Michael Horowirz.
The Disney Channel On Demand will offer 'Den Brother' starting on Aug. 6, before its official premiere on the Disney Channel on Aug. 13.
