luke grimes FX Outlaw CountryYoung actors Luke Grimes and Haley Bennett have landed key roles in the upcoming FX pilot 'Outlaw Country.' The pair joins the previously cast Mary Steenburgen in the Nashville-set crime-tinged family drama/thriller, reports Deadline.

'Justified' and 'Sons of Anarchy' director Michael Dinner has signed to direct the pilot, which will explore Nashville's organized crime underground while offering a slice of the city's celebrated music scene (with help from music supervisor Shooter Jennings, son of Waylon Jennings).

'Brothers & Sisters' alum Grimes will play Eli Larken, a modern cowboy trying to escape a life of crime to help provide a better life for his younger siblings.

Bennett has signed to play Steenburgen's daughter, a country singer striving to break away from her clingy and overprotective mother. She was last seen in 'Marley & Me' and playing the title character in the 2008 horror thriller 'The Haunting of Molly Hartley.'

The pilot was written by Josh Goldin (the writer and director behind Matthew Broderick indie 'Wonderful World') and entertainment journalist Rachel Abramowitz.

This is my kind of show...feels a bit No Country...There's nothing like a good urban cowboy backdrop
