-- Lea Michele (via Associated Press)
Nominated for Best Actress, Comedy for 'Glee'
"We're taking Walter from Mr. Chips to 'Scarface' and challenging the audience. He's a man who is struggling to provide for his family, and that sets the hook. I have to embrace the journey. I think it's in there with everyone. I can think with the right circumstances, anyone can turn. He didn't go into it willingly, but has turned out of necessity."
-- Bryan Cranston (via Variety)
Nominated for Best Actor, Drama for 'Breaking Bad'

"It really makes it so much richer an experience for the show to receive the nomination too. It would be kind of isolating if I were the only one nominated. ...Now with Dexter, we don't want to keep him killing people incidentally. And there has been a real evolution in how he executes the code, and he is a little adrift. But I look forward to seeing where he goes from here."

We're all incredible perfectionists on the set and never get comfortable. We're constantly trying to better ourselves."
-- Christina Hendricks (via Variety)

My first call was to my mom [in England], and she was just jumping for joy. Some parents are not encouraging about this profession, but from a very young age she always said to me, 'I am behind you all the way.'"
-- Archie Panjabi
Nominated for Best Supporting Actress, Drama for 'The Good Wife'
"These are a crapshoot. I tried to sip my coffee like it was any morning, but that's not true. I was sad, though [that the series didn't get a nomination]. It is what it is. Just wished so badly there could be some group recognition for the cast as a whole and the writers. There's just lots of good shows right now and a happy resurgence in the comedy realm."
-- Jim Parsons (via Variety)
Nominated for Best Actor, Comedy for 'The Big Bang Theory'

-- Ryan Seacrest

"It turns out I'm up against Ryan Seacrest. This is a smackdown of a biblical level. Originally I was thinking this was a contest of David vs. Goliath, but it's really Samson and Delilah, and he's Delilah. I'm also up against a giant network show, 'Undercover Boss,' that aired after the Super Bowl. I'm on after a show about a gay guy with a photographer wife who's trying to get Lindsay Lohan to the shoot on time."

And just when he has done something bad, he goes and does something heartfelt and its nice to see that change week to week."
-- John Slattery (via Variety)
Nominated for Best Supporting Actor, Drama for 'Mad Men'
"It's a real validation to what you are doing to get [nominated] year after year. I'm endlessly surprised by what [my character] brings out of me and all I really do is read the lines and she just takes over kind of in a 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' type of way."

"This is the most surreal year of my life. I keep trying to analyze it and figure it out. There's something in the show for everyone. "I heard the phone ring really, really early - at like 5:50 - and it was my publicist calling with the good news. Then I started calling family members, friends... anyone I have ever know since the second grade! [Having critics root for me] was itself surprising, and now that its actually here, it's mind-boggling. I don't know if Im ever going to be able to accept this part of the journey that 'Glee' has been. It's the biggest compliment and the greatest validation there is."
