A Contestant Is Injured on 'So You Think You Can Dance' -- Will He Survive? (VIDEO)

A Contestant Is Injured on 'So You Think You Can Dance' -- Will He Survive? We've got a man down on 'So You Think You Can Dance' (Wed., 8PM ET on Fox).

[Spoiler alert.]

Top-rated dancer Alex Wong suffered a foot injury during the rehearsals for tonight's episode, and was unable to perform. He ruptured his Achilles tendon, and may not be able to continue on the show. The judges expressed regret, but instantly placed Alex in the dreaded "Bottom Three" -- meaning that he could be voted off at any time. And even if Alex isn't eliminated by the viewers, if he doesn't recover from his injury by next week, then he'll be automatically kicked off the program.

Okay, so: two questions. Is it fair to punish Alex for not being able to dance? And do you think he'll be able to recover? He was doing so well up until now.

WTF is the matter with Mia Michaels and her rude, bitchy, insensitive mouth?

I so agree with you, Fin. She is really nasty. She's been like that for awhile. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if that's why Mary Murphy decided to take a break from the show this season. I don't think they get along for that very reason. I remember two seasons ago when she was just as nasty to that young black male dancer who was absolutely terrific. She called him "arrogant" for no reason and told him to his face that she couldn't stand him. He did nothing to her. And Mary told her about herself on camera and said she wasn't going to take that rude bull$hit. I do believe that Mia Michaels has a problem with black males in particular. And I'm sure that she took much glee in breaking the heart of the young black man who should have been in this season's competition when she went to his home just to tell him that he didn't make it. I can't stand her.

All the judges this year, are getting on my nerves, actually. They're using Adechieke as a scapegoat, now that that tap-dancing chick is gone. If they didn't think he could be a contender to win, they shouldn't have picked him. Guess he's this year's ringer.

So glad that Cat Deely spoke up last night about their double standard and doublespeak when it comes to their favorites. They needed to be taken down a peg. I think Nigel was particularly flustered when the audience cheered in agreement with Cat and he saw Adechieke feeling their compassion. So, Nigel turned around and got mad at Adechieke for acknowledging them and his predicament. They're so full of $hit. Like American Idol, I do believe this show is rigged anyway. They're going to push Adechieke out soon, while the ball's in their court. Mark my words.

I love Alex. He's a gifted dancer. By the way, I had stopped watching this show because of that crazy laughing "hyena" that used to be a judge. Now that she's gone I can finally enjoy the show. I do have a "cougar crush" on Kent!!

Alex is by far one of the best dancers on this season. However, if he cannot dance he cannot compete. He will be missed, especially since I thought he would WIN! My other favorites (and have been since the start) are Kent, Robert, Lauren, and Ashley, I believe one of these will win, if Alex is off the show. I like Jose but his dancing is not near as captivating as his personality. I would love to see AdeChike go home (his Bollywood dance was horrible) he has not impressed me, unless he was doing contemporary style. Billy is okay at times; I LOVED his Broadway dance this week. As far has the judges I think Mia Michael's is being honest with her critiques, it is very refreshing to have a judge that is brutally honest, but I do not like Adam he just repeats Mia's thoughts.

I think that Nigel and Mia were tacky in their critique of Adecheke... especially Mia who mentioned how she hated that she didn't see Alex perform with Adecheke. Alex hasn't danced every style of dance superbly. Perhaps he wouldn't have done as well with this style either. And why it was so cute for Jose to freestyle Indian dance and not Adecheke... Cat was right on time last night for playing the devil's advocate and the judges COULD NOT come up with a valid reason why.

Who is Luis?? you mean Jose??? yes, both are very, very good dancers as are all this years contestants. It is a shame about Alex - he was my favorite but thats life. He'll be fine.
As to one posters question - I think I'm watching JOSHUA on Dance your Ass off with Mel B. I wonder what happened to last years winner ' RUSSELL '. What happened to him???
and I also agree with what people are saying about Mia Michaels....calm down MIA - some of your comments are just rude and uncalled for.

Alex is an excellent ballet dancer and can do contemporary and hip hop so well it is amazing. But his attempt to dance Fosse jazz was really pathetic. He did not even begin to understand Fosse and his choreography - too lazy, arrogant and stupid to have looked into it before that lazy performance. If he can't dance - he must be the one to go. And can everyone stop pretending like Kent is straight! Dumb tweens vote for him because they are too naive to see that he is 100% gay, gay, gay!!!!!

Ouch...I smell jealous... What does sexuality have to do with this show? Don't worry, you won't catch gayness. Carry on...

I love the show this season because they finally got 95% excellent dancers (the worst 2 are already gone) and Mary Murphy is not on the show to annoy with her screechy voice and stupid comments. Sooooo much better. But, I suspect the inury to Alex may be fake just to keep people interested. And lose Bollywood, please! It is stupid and a waste of time and energy. No one likes it!

Hey, I could care less if he is gay or not. I loved and voted many, many times for Adam Lambert on Idol knowing full well from the start what flavor he was. Didn't make a bit of difference and I am a 60 year old grandma!

Remember that the best dancer never wins - it's the best PERFORMER. While Alex is probably, technically the best dancer I'm not sure of his ability to connect with and perform for his audience. Let's see how this all plays out, and he will be sorely missed if he doesn't advance, but que sera, sera.
