Brian Austin Green Officially Joins 'Desperate Housewives'
Welcome to the neighborhood, Brian Austin Green ... Here's hoping you stir up a respectable amount of drama!Rumors floated earlier this week that the 'Beverly Hills 90210' star might be joining the cast of 'Desperate Housewives,' and, after a meeting with 'DH' creator Marc Cherry last week, Green is definitely going to be the newest neighbor on Wisteria Lane next season, according to Deadline Hollywood.
Well, actually, one of the newest neighbors; 'Ugly Betty' star Vanessa Williams is also joining 'Desperate Housewives' for its seventh season, which will premiere on ABC on Sept. 26.
As for Green's character, he's playing a contractor named Keith, who does some work in the 'hood, and gets involved with (at least) one of the 'Housewives.'
Deadline Hollywood reports that the newlywed, who married longtime girlfriend Megan Fox in Hawaii last month, could appear in as many as eight of the first ten episodes of the new season.
The 'DH' role is another entry in Green's recent career comeback line-up, beginning with roles on 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' and 'Smallville' that allowed him to shed his '90210' teen image and turn in more mature, sexier performances.
The actor is also busy with big-screen roles, including the action flick 'Urgency,' the indie horror movie 'Last Stop' with Mena Suvari and 'Warehouse 13' star Joanne Kelly, and 'The Sandy Creek Girls,' a fact-based drama about a small-town girls high school basketball team that wins a state championship, that also stars Dean Cain and Jennifer Lopez ex Cris Judd.
As for 'Housewives,' the 2010-11 season was originally plotted to be the show's final one, though Cherry signed an extension that will keep the show on the air through at least season nine. As for what we know about season seven so far:
- One of the families on the block finds out a shocking secret: One of the children in the family is not really a member of the fam. Perhaps this ties in with a rumor about Bree shaking up her friendship with Gaby when she tells Gaby a shocking secret?
- 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' star Lainie Kazan has been offered the role of Mike and Susan's neighbor at their new apartment home, according to TVGuide.com.
- Williams will reportedly play a college pal of Lynette's who has a falling out with her longtime friend.
- Kyle MacLachlan, as Orson, may return for an episode or two, to wrap up his storyline, but his character is definitely out, leaving Bree to start a whole new life for herself. Dana Delany and Drea de Matteo are gone, as well.
- Harriet Sansom Harris, who played the deliciously wicked Felicia Tilman, will also return as part of the storyline to explain how and why Paul Young (Mark Moses), who'll be renting Susan and Mike's house, is out of jail and returning to Wisteria Lane. Oh, with his new wife, Beth, in tow.
- The 'DH' mystery of the season will also revolve around Paul.
