Lee Pace, Linus Roache Join HBO's 'Miraculous Year'
HBO's 'Miraculous Year' is adding more recognizable faces to its already impressive roster. According to the Ausiello Files, Lee Pace of 'Pushing Daisies' and 'Law & Order' ADA Linus Roache have been tapped to join the drama, which revolves around a New York family. Kathryn Bigelow, Oscar-winning director of 'The Hurt Locker,' is directing the pilot and executive producing. The cast already includes Hope Davis, Frank Langella and Patti LuPone. Tony winner Eddie Redmayne plays the lead role, described as a "charismatic, self-destructive Broadway composer," according to Ausiello. Stark Sands of 'Generation Kill' is also a recent addition.
Pace was recently on the big screen in 'Marmaduke' and 'When in Rome,' and also has three more upcoming films listed on his IMDB, including 'Ceremony' with Uma Thurman.
Roache is an interesting addition to the cast, if only because 'Law & Order' may not be completely dead yet. As we reported earlier this week, there's a chance, however remote, that AMC may produce new episodes of the show. Roache joining 'Miraculous Year' may be a sign of his lack of confidence in that happening.
If 'Year' makes it past pilot, and the talent involved indicates it should, and 'Law & Order' gets picked up, Roache might have to choose between them or find a way to balance his shooting schedule.
