Tammy Blanchard just might shake up court proceedings on 'The Good Wife' next season. The actress is set to join the CBS drama drama as a friend of Cary (Matt Czuchry) and assistant to Glen Childs (Titus Welliver), according to the Ausiello Files.Blanchard's as-yet unnamed character is described as a "fair-minded assistant state's attorney who looks more like an indie-band drummer than a lawyer.''
The Bayonne, N.J.-native turned heads and won an Emmy, for her portrayal of a young Judy Garland in the 2001 ABC miniseries 'Me and My Shadows.' Her credits also include the soap 'Guiding Light' and 'Gypsy: A Musical Fable' on Broadway, for which she received a Tony nomination.
Meanwhile, veteran character actor Chris Sarandon ('The Princess Bride's' Prince Humperdinck) will play the the not-so-good-natured Judge Goode on the series, and Jacob Pitts (Tim Gutterson on the FX hit 'Justified') will play the owner of a Wikileaks-type Web site who's accused of murder on the season's first episode.
'The Good Wife' stars Julianna Margulies as Alicia Florrick, the wife of a disgraced state attorney who returns to work as a junior litigator. The show recently earned nine Emmy nominations, including one for Best Drama Series.
