'Modern Family' Co-Creators Dissolve Partnership, But Will Still Run Show Together

by Chris Harnick, posted Jul 20th 2010 12:40PM
Modern FamilyThe two dads of 'Modern Family' are divorcing. No, not Cam and Mitchell, but creators Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd.

According to Vulture, Lloyd and Levitan, the executive producers and showrunners of the hit comedy, have dissolved their four-year business partnership.

Don't fret over the future of the show just yet, the duo will stay on writing and running 'Modern Family,' but as individuals.

Levitan and Lloyd established their partnership in 2006 in order to gain more traction from studios who were tepid toward TV comedies.

After teaming up, Levitan and Lloyd were signed by 20th Century Fox for a multiyear deal. The first project of the deal was the ill-fated Fox sitcom 'Back To You,' starring Patricia Heaton and Kelsey Grammer.

Lloyd and Levitan are in separate talks with 20th Century about continuing at the studio under new, separate deals.
