'Being Human' DVD Giveaway

by Alicia Roda, posted Jul 21st 2010 7:00PM
With a plot surrounding three twenty-somethings that live double lives as a werewolf, a vampire and a ghost, BBC show 'Being Human' isn't your run-of-the-mill hit TV show. But with reviews like: 'frighteningly good" and "compelling, self-aware and funny," it appears it's on its way to becoming a huge one.

'Being Human' -- season 2 premiering Sat., July 24 at 10PM ET on BBC America -- was a massive success overseas before being imported to the US. Starring Russell Tovey, Aidan Turner and Lenora Crichlow as the troubled leads, the unique series fuses elements from all over the genre spectrum - sci-fi, drama, comedy, romance - and does so seamlessly.

Party Down. I randomly added this to my Netflix queue when it was first starting and never even looked at it. Then my fiance saw one random article a few weeks ago about it and turned it on one day. We were hooked.

I started watching Being Human on the reccomendation from a friend and I marked my calendar last year. I thought it was a wonderful show from the start. I am so glad there will be new episodes and I really hope they don't make an American version because the British version is so good, I think they would really end up messing it up.

My grandfather gave me a tape of Farscape. Unfortunately, it was from the middle of season three (after the crew split up and possibly the worst place to try to figure out the plot since each episode alternates between ships).
Now that it's actually in an affordable DVD format, I've been trying to get my friends addicted in turn by loaning my copy out.

this sounds like a really cool show... I discovered the show Jericho while browsing the web, and have been watching it via my Netflix subscription. I also have been watching Haven on SyFy after seeing the commercials for it.

Being Human is a very emotionally satisfying programme, with both mystery and humour.
