'Mad Men' Giveaway: Win a Don Draper Barbie Doll!

don_draper_barbie_doll_amcThe summer's most anticipated returning show, 'Mad Men,' is back this Sun., July 25 at 10PM ET on AMC. And to celebrate the end of the year-long drought, TV Squad is giving away four Barbie® Collector 'Mad Men' Dolls.

The doll line features main characters Don Draper, Betty Draper, Roger Sterling and Joan Holloway.

Every day for the next four days, we'll be featuring each of these characters. Today, we highlight the duplicitous, dangerously handsome Don Draper ... the Mad Man himself.

Find out how to win the Don Draper Barbie doll ... after the jump!

Say what you will about Don Draper ... or perhaps we mean Dick Whitman ... but we're fascinated by him. In the first three seasons of 'Mad Men,' Don's shown himself to be a still water that runs very deep. Who is he really and why are we -- and the people around him -- so fascinated by the guy?

Here's four reasons why Don will continue to be the kingpin of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, the straw that stirs the drink and the man with the plan for the future:

jon_hamm_amc_mad_men1. He sees the big picture

While others around him seem mired in the moment, like the Cuban Missile Crisis or the Civil Rights Movement, Don doesn't jump to conclusions or make snap decisions. He contemplates the present as it relates to his past and his future, almost as if he knows that he's going to have a very significant future.

2. He seizes the day

Nothing is more evident of his carpe diem quality than the decision to create the new advertising agency. A more cautious man than Don would have accepted a cushy executive position with another advertising agency, but that's not Draper. He saw the Brits bailing on Sterling Cooper as an opportunity and he pounced ... taking the others with him.

3. He's practical

It takes a big man to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, and that's Don Draper. He understands that when you're in a fight you can't win, the alternative is to run. After Betty caught him dead to rights about being Dick Whitman, Don realized that she was lost to him. He did the practical thing and ended his marriage.

4. He can sell anything

Don Draper is charm personified. And talented in a way that few men can match. Even when Don seems to have nothing -- no ideas, no line, no connection -- something clicks and he's able to close the deal. That power to charm and make others follow his lead is why he will be the "man" at the new company. Nobody does it better than Don Draper.

For the chance to win the Don Draper Barbie doll, leave a comment about your favorite Don Draper moment or line. Make sure to use a valid email address and enter before 6PM ET on Tuesday, July 27.

I love the moment when Don is at Sally's school and they are preparing to watch the solar eclipse. The children all have special viewing boxes, but when the eclipse happens, Don just stares at it with his Ray-Bans. It's one of those moments that emphasizes his lack of fear -- for anything --

"Limit your exposure" from "Out of town" (season 3.1) I felt at that moment that he gives Sal some assurance that his secret is safe with him (but may not be with others). Don's flawed, but he's loyal to friends.

Don tearing a page out of the book of the young socialite he got together with in California. It shows that he thinks the pretty young girl lacks the depth to appreciate the book she is reading.

Favorite Don moment? Too many...but in Season Two when Betty pushes Don to punish Bobby and he just can't and Bobby is asking him about his daddy, "What did he like to eat?" and Don has to stop and think and then he says, "Ham. He Liked ham." and then Bobby says "We have to get you a new Daddy." and Don says, "Com'here" and hugs him. Very poignant and uncharacteristically Don.

When Don first met Connie and told him he didn't work for free. Connie convinces him to do so, then asks Don what he wants. Don asks for a chance at a small piece of the business and Connie says yes, but then chides him for thinking small. Don comes back by saying something about taking things slow. Not many would have had a comeback to Connie's comment, but Don did...and it worked.

The look on his face when Betty told him she was leaving him. When he called her a whore was so amazing and so laughable. Considering his many sleep arounds. He justs eats up the screen whenever he appears. I just can't imagine this show without Jon as Don Draper. He is so perfect in the role in looks and his ability to communicate not only with his voice, but those meaningful looks. Really love that character!
