The ladies from 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) are making history.

On Thu. July 29, President Obama will chat with Whoopi, Elisabeth, Sherri, Joy and Barbara -- marking the first time a sitting president of the United States will appear on a morning talk show.

According to TVGuide.com, President Obama will film his episode on Wednesday as part of 'The View's' "Red, White & View" campaign. Look for Obama to tackle topics such a his administration's successes, family life at the White House, jobs, the economy and the Gulf oil spill.

"We are so pleased and honored that President Obama will be a guest on The View," Barbara Walters said in a statement.

Obama's appearance also brings Walters, an executive producer of the talk show, back to the program. Walters has been recuperating from heart-valve replacement surgery since May.

The last time Obama visited the series was as a senator in 2008.
