SomethingPitchy Backstage With the Idols: Siobhan Magnus and Aaron Kelly (VIDEO)

by Gabrielle Dunn, posted Jul 28th 2010 2:00PM
Siobhan Magnus Aaron KellySince SomethingPitchy host Andy Scott got called out yesterday for his red cheeks during his Tim Urban interview, it's fitting that SP correspondent Gaby Dunn's flustered face is exposed today.

The 'American Idol' experts went backstage with the season 9 Idols at the Newark 'Idols Live' tour last week and filmed interviews with the Top 10.

First up today, Gaby was charmed by the country etiquette of 17-year-old Aaron Kelly. The two talked dental hygiene and tried to write a country song together. (Key word: Tried.)

Then, Siobhan Magnus, Gaby's season 9 crush, made her day with talk of jewelry sharing, crazy audience facial expressions and little sisters with coyote head hats. (So weird and cute!) Plus, Magnus revealed that she's staying with her hometown band post-Idol tour.

Check out our interviews below, and be sure to follow us on Twitter @somethingpitchy (and Gaby at @gabydunn). Go here for our interviews with Didi Benami and Andrew Garcia and here for Katie Stevens and Tim Urban. And don't forget to check back here tomorrow for the next set of interviews with Casey James and "Big Mike" Lynche.

Uh, yeeee! I understand Siobhan's loyalty to her bandmates - but-that-might-not-be-wise!
Siobhan Magnus has potential, high potential - and now has millions or at least a few hundred thousand interested in HER album, not Lunar Valves alt-metal head-bangin with her on some leads and background on others. And when they shut down after summer band? A little babysitting work and back to glassblowing?

With her high potential, though, she also has some things she really needs to work on..even her big fans agree - more vocal coaching, breath control, some dance work, getting stage kinetics down better.

I'd wait until the talent agencies and record companies have their chance to come by and sniff around the "merchandise". Siobhan might well get a modest deal that fits her needs beautifully. 7 months of personal and album development work, June-early Sept with her local band, then back to work on a solo album they have a stake in for a late 2011 or early 2012 release.
