'In Plain Sight' Renewed for Two More Seasons

by Rich Keller, posted Jul 29th 2010 10:20AM
Hopefully, the cast of 'In Plain Sight' will be happier when they hear that their show was renewed for two more seasons.Continuing its trend of renewing shows for multiple seasons, USA network has given a two-season commitment to the female-driven drama 'In Plain Sight.'

According to Deadline Hollywood, the order by network executives will bring the series total to five, making it the third-longest-running series on USA behind 'Psych' and 'Burn Notice.' The show's main cast -- Mary McCormick, Frederick Weller and Paul Ben-Victor -- will all be returning for seasons 4 and 5, and the show will continue to be filmed in New Mexico.

During its third season, 'In Plain Sight' averaged 5.2 million viewers. Nearly 2 million of those were adults in the 18-49-year-old demographic.

McCormick's character on the series, Mary Shannon, went through a number of changes in season 3. She recovered from a gunshot wound inflicted at the end of the second season, broke an engagement with longtime boyfriend Rafael Ramirez and had her mother, Jinx, played by Lesley Ann Warren, move out of her house and get a new job. She also entered a relationship with FBI agent Mike Faber, played by Steven Weber.

With Weber currently without a regular series -- his last show, 'Happy Town,' was canceled -- perhaps he'll return to 'In Plain Sight' on a more regular basis. Hopefully, we'll hear something more from USA on this in the next few weeks.

When can we expect this show to air again? It's an excellent series. Love it!

I really hope Mary and Marshall get together, it sucks watching her not even notice him when he's trying to get her attention.

I'm a big fan of the show, and this is good news, but what does it even mean? Renewing a show for two years sounds great. But if it does really badly next year couldn't they still pull the plug?

Does anyone else have problems understanding what the actors are speaking? They talk too fast... Or is this a USA thing?

Excellent! Love the show. The "season" is way too short. Make it at least a six month weekly season.

I love the show and do hope they bring back Stephen Weber. I think he's sexy and there was definitely chemistry there. However would love to see tension remain with her ex boyfriend.
