'Rubicon' Sets Ratings Record for AMC

This is AMC's third series -- after 'Mad Men' and 'Breaking Bad' -- and they appear to be on a winning streak. By comparison, 'Mad Men's' fourth season opener drew 2.9 million viewers; Sunday's episode pulled in 2.5 million viewers following 'Rubicon.'
The 'Rubicon' viewership levels surprised pundits, since the series' buzz was relatively quiet; AMC had already aired the pilot (to 1.1 million viewers) once after the 'Breaking Bad' finale in June. Additionally, the show had already been sampled by another 3.5 million pairs of eyeballs via VOD, iTunes and Hulu, Deadline Hollywood reported.
"With last night's premiere of 'Rubicon,' AMC is now three for three with our original series," Charlie Collier, president and GM of AMC, said in a statement. "'Rubicon' joins our hit series 'Mad Men' and 'Breaking Bad' -- cementing AMC's Sunday night as the place to go for premium programming on basic cable."
Rubicon" will move to it's regular 9PM slot next Sunday.
