Spitting Outside Restaurant Gets Unemployed Man Fired on 'Breakthrough With Tony Robbins' (VIDEO)

The combination of the current recession in America plus reality shows is ... certainly an intriguing one. On 'Breakthrough With Tony Robbins' (Tue., 8PM ET on NBC), we get to see a man who has been given a second chance at life. Ron Stegner has lost his job, and all his life savings. Now, self-help guru Tony Robbins gives Ron an opportunity to get a new job in a restaurant. But is what happens on the show really fair?Ron hasn't worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years. And on his first day on the job, while running a routine check, he spits on the sidewalk (while politely covering it up with his clipboard). Instantly, the manager appears outside to yell at him, telling Ron that this is a multi-million dollar restaurant, and he can't do such a thing. Then, Ron is fired by Willie Degal, the restaurant boss.
Um? Okay. Yes, spitting on the sidewalk is gross, but is it an instantaneously being-fired-worthy offense?
But no worries -- fret not! Ron pleads with Willie in order to get his job back, and is re-hired. Willie even suggests that within a year, Ron may get to be in charge of his own restaurant. Great! So what's the lesson of this show again? If you suck up to capricious supervisors who may fire you at any second for no major reason ... then things will work out?
What do you guys think? Did Ron do something bad? Or is Willie in the wrong?
